It was released on 10 February The Darkness 2 has same game play as its previous game. You have to play as Jackie Estacado. But this game also has some new features like Quad wielding by which you can use both the dark tendrils and firearms at a time.

Each time you kill an enemy, discover some precious thing or execute someone. You will get Essence by which you can purchase new qualities of characters from talent shrines.

Just like the other game Jackie becomes vulnerable to in the light. This game also features Vendettas which is different mode in this game.

In this mode you can play with three more players online. Unlike the last game this has a lot more graphical details. You have four different skill trees that you can use and you also have a basic XP system in play as well.

These keep you moving forward and I felt that you unlocked things at a decent pace. The game overall plays very similarly to the first one and that was the problem most people had with it back when it was released.

One thing that is very split down the middle in regards to people liking or disliking The Darkness 2 is the visual style. It looks very different from the first game and this is because they have gone for a cell-shaded, comic book style and I for one think that it looks fantastic. Yes, it is very different from how that first game looked, but in all honesty with you, I would have much preferred that the first game looked like this rather than this one looking like the first game.

The original Darkness was praised for the voice acting and it is just as good here. The performances of the main characters, especially Jackie are amazing and it helps get you more invested in the story. The relationship between Jackie, The Darkness, and the Darkling is great and that is mainly due to how the actors portray them.

I think that The Darkness 2 is a fantastic video game. If you asked me what one I liked better, then I do feel that the first game only just edges it out as the story was a bit better and the twist with being in the war was better than the twist of the asylum. Still, this is an awesome first-person shooter and one I highly recommend that you play. Just make sure you have played the first game before jumping in here as it will make the story much better.
